Brrrr...It was cold this weekend. It happened to be sunny and very warm earlier in the week, but why would we want that to stick around? No way Mother Nature! Please bring it back on down to -30. Ahhh, yes...that's more like it! We made the best of it and even enjoyed a fall/winter favorite recipe one more time!

'twas chilly! |
I followed that up with a run where I had to wear my cold-weather tights |
...and these |
...and I rocked a mock-turtleneck. Of course, I was roasting by the end of my run |
we spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa's |
and made one of our favorite recipes: jambalaya! (things like this are never that photogenic so the pic doesn't do it justice, but it was sooo good!) |
don't forget the corn muffins |
Aunt Brenna is in town so we've been spending lots of time with her. LG has always taken a liking to her. I'm pretty sure it's her magical baby-enchanting voice! Their relationship has evolved from this sweet moment above (one of my fave pics) to this... |

I think they're smoking a peace pipe together. Just kidding...it's a duck call. Neither scenario is normal, but they like to be weirdos together. |
And we ended on a sweet note with some mint chocolate chip. Yum! |
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Guess who's back, back again??? Gumshoe's back...Tell a friend!
So happy to see Gumshoe back on the blogosphere. We love your work. Great stuff. Congrats and good luck on the marathon training.
You have to love the photos of Ms. McGootz doing work in her soccer game. All great photos and stories!
Mmm! That jumbalaya looks delicious! So does the mint chip ice cream.
We are having some bizarre non-spring or summer weather. It might as well be winter all year long I've decided. SEeing your running gear reminds me that I need to get moving!
Looks like you had a great weekend!
