Finally Finished!

We finally put the finishing touches on our basement face lift.  And it only took 5 months!  What?  Okay, so we're total DIYers, but we're lazy DIYers.  I mean, it's not like we were knocking down walls or anything, but painting walls and trim and updating a bathroom all on a tee-niny budget (and only after LG went to bed) doesn't make for a quick project.  Oh, and did I mention we like to just relax on the weekends?  Ugh.  But it was a necessity.  Too many toys and way too little space, so we have to maximize every inch!

And poor Gumshoe...

Me:  "Hey babe, I think I want to rearrange the basement and put up some shelves so that we can use it as a little playroom for LG."

Gumshoe:  "That sounds good.  We'll do it this weekend."

Me:  "But, you know, if we're going to move stuff around and put up shelves, we might as well paint the walls and the trim.  I mean, if we don't do it now, we probably won't do it.  And we want to update the bathroom..."

Gumshoe:  "Ummm...okay."

Me:  "Don't worry!  This will totally be my project and I'll do it all.  Don't worry about a thing!"

Gumshoe:  "sure."

And if by "do it all" I meant "subtly request guilt Gumshoe into helping me with EVERYTHING", then yes, that's exactly what happened!  But it was a labor of love and LG adores his playroom! 

Unfortunately, I have no before pics because I'm a ninny.  But here's a small sample of what our paint and trim used to look like...
