Applesauce + Parm...as in Parmesan cheese.
Yummmmmm.
Not really.
But my child seems to think so...
How did this concoction come to be? Simple, really. Per usual, I made a nice dinner for the family. Tonight, it happened to be a pasta skillet meal. Whole wheat pasta, ground turkey, marinara, melted mozzarella. It was pretty good.
The only issue is, neither LG or Gumshoe eat pasta. Basically, I make them suffer through a pasta meal because I am really craving it. To be fair, Gumshoe will eat pasta on rare occasions (tonight was one) and I'm still working on LG. He just refuses. I don't know why I want him to learn to like pasta, but I just do. Probably because the idea of Easy Mac and a hot dog on a busy night sounds really appealing.
Anywho, he turned his nose up at the small amount of pasta I offered him and instead turned his attention toward the applesauce. But when he noticed his daddy pouring Parmesan cheese on his dinner, LG wanted the same. But not on the pasta...on the applesauce.
Who are we to stifle creative eating, right? Parm on the applesauce! And he ate it. And he loved it.
Whatever works!
