Snowmageddon

It's snowed here lately.  A lot.

We had 2 snow storms back to back, with a really warm day in the middle.  Typical random Kansas.  After a couple of mild winters, it was actually fun!  Well...it was fun if you weren't sick and didn't have to be out on patrol on the horrible roads in the middle of a blizzard helping a moron driving a teeny tiny "smart" car get out of a ditch.

Poor Andy!  But honestly, the police crown vics with their bald tires and the detective cars...wait for it...Toyota Prius' (Prii? Priuses?) weren't any better.  They got stuck all over town.  Pathetic.  On the bright side, Andy being out in the first snow storm made his cold a million times worse, so he stayed home to rest during the second snow storm.  We got a nice, cozy, relaxing, germy day at home.  Thankful he got to rest, though!

Okay.  Back to the fun stuff.  My cute 3 year old in the snow.  Fair warning...2 snow days worth of pictures here.  You've been warned...

Lesson learned: we should invest in snow boots for our child.  And some snow gear that isn't size "18 months."  He's a trooper, though.  And it really helps you balance if you stick your tongue out...

He helped his sick Daddy shovel...

Dude, you missed a spot...

Then, he tried to bust my camera...

He made sure the car stayed "warm"...

He jumped...

He built a fort...

Placing the snow ever so delicately...

Finished product...

He got pelted...

 Again...

 And again...

 And again, and again...

Then handed out paybacks...

Grumpy Cat made an appearance on the warm day...

That's better!

Did you have fun despite your embarrassing snow gear?

The Weeklies

Dino caves...

Plumber's crack...

Super Bowl wings...

Hanging with Nana and PopPop...

Stuffed animal conferences...

It may have gotten a little overwhelming...

New kicks...

Check 'em out.  BAM!

Goose eggs...

Photo bombs...

And sissy...how do you throw up on your own back?

Seriously?

I wasn't sure whether to be grossed out or completely impressed...

And finally, the quote of the week:

"Mommy, I will save you."
 Save me from what, Sam?
"Save you from nothing.  I will save you from nothing.  Ever."

Thanks, Sam.
Is that a passive-aggressive response to the goose egg I accidentally gave you from the car door?  Message received.

To Be or Not To Be...

He's very serious.

Contemplating life on a beautiful January day.

Why is the sky blue?

How do birds fly?

Why does the word xylophone start with an "x" and not a "z"?

Why did my mommy dress me as if there's a flood coming?

And why does Kansas offer us a sunny 78 degrees on Monday, and give us 26 degrees and snow on a Wednesday?

Stop trying to figure that one out, Sam.  You'll go crazy!
A day like this can only call for one thing...

Inside out pajama pants!

And a baby ninja.
