Gah...

I can't take it...

The cuteness that is my baby girl...

Those criss-cross tootsies...

That big diaper booty...

My goodness!!

10 month stats:
17lbs, 10oz...35th percentile
29" long...90th percentile

Where has the time gone?  I cannot believe we are creeping up on a year.  I'm not the super-sentimental type, but I'm starting to tear up just writing that.

You definitely keep me guessing most times.  We have learned quite a bit about you and your personality.  You are a bit...how shall I put it...temperamental??

One thing is for sure, you have the ability to go from zero to sixty in about a nanosecond.  Whether it's crying, laughing, eating, sleeping, crawling...whatever...you're going to do what you want when you want to!

You can absolutely sleep through the night, and occasionally you decide to try that out.  Unfortunately for me, you also like to poop in the middle of the night.

On the flip side, you wake up every morning and from every single nap with a giant smile on your face.  You are one happy baby!

You finally started eating solid foods about 4 weeks ago.  Seriously...we tried twice a day, every day for 3 months and you refused.  Then, one glorious day, you just started eating.  Now you eat 3 meals a day and you eat more than your brother!  You have yet to meet a food you don't like.  Zero to sixty!

You are holding out on us in the crawling department.  You sit up very straight and lean forward to get your toys, but when you're on your tummy...you let us know about it.  This will be another zero to sixty situation, I'm sure.  You're just gonna do it when you want to and not a moment sooner!

You've got 2 bottom toofers, and the top two are just starting to come in this week.

You have loved your big brother from the beginning and that hasn't changed a bit.  He can do no wrong in your eyes.  Everything he does is hilarious and he can make you grin when nothing else will do.  He is an amazing big brother...so loving and helpful and tender...and you are so lucky to have him!

You like to yell at us.  I mean...I have visions of your teenage years every time you do this.  It's pretty funny.  It's not a cry or a whine...it's a mad-yell in my general direction.  You yell when I do not respond quickly enough, when I take a toy away, when I walk away, etc.  I'm wondering if you'll learn to slam your bedroom door before you learn to crawl.

You are definitely saying "dada".  And you say it to daddy and at daddy.  We're still working on "mama".

You are my little accessory.  We're kind of attached.  Like...literally.  You won't and you never have taken a bottle.  Thanks for that.  You are a stinker.

You are an absolute delight.  I wake up every morning and can't wait to get my hands on you!  Watching you and your brother interact is the highlight of my day.  Which is a good thing because that's pretty much the only thing I do.  ;)

Life in Instagrams

It's been a few weeks.
A rough few weeks.
I'm sure I'll blog about it all sometime...
So our kiddos can see that we've weathered tough stuff and grown stronger because of it.
But for now...the beautiful things...

Grumpy Cat has had a lot of firsts.
First grumpy picnic...

First grumpy swing ride...

First grumpy time four wheeling...

And us?
First date since our anniversary last October.  Crazy.  We need to get out more!
Indoor slide.
I might be the coolest mom ever.  Until his legs get caught in the spindles...

Some mommy/girlie love...

Sleepy car ride after a fun lunch with friends...
(Note the pink beads.  Go hard or go home)

Time out for putting boogers in pockets instead of on a kleenex.  The things I never thought I'd say...

Dead worm hunting....boys and their bugs...

The heavens are smiling on my Grumpy Cat...

Sibling love...

When Sam does a craft project at school, he's always sure to use our favorite colors: purple for mommy, pink for sissy, blue for daddy.  Such a sweet and thoughful guy.
My new favorite necklace...

Free lunch at Freebirds.  Anna kicked over Andy's soda and Sam hates burritos, but it was free and no one had a meltdown.  Success!  And yes...that's my baby sitting in a bumbo on top of the table.  Totally safe...

Cheap thrills at Suburban Lawn and Garden.  This is the only thing cheap about that place...

Warm weather tootsies!

Rough weeks or easy weeks, no matter...we are always so blessed.

Toofers!

Hey Miss Cheekers!

Did you know you've got two tiny little toofers bustin' through?

Yep.  It's true.
Will you show me those toofies?

Pleeeeeease?

Nope?
Well...what if I tried to make you smile?

Not funny?  Mmmkay.
What if I just gently took my finger and ever so slightly tried to open...

You wanna chew on my finger.  I get it.
Well, what if I laid you down like this and...

That's a no go.  Aaaalllrighty.
What if I made silly faces...

Okay!  Too much.  I get it.
Well...after about 80 thousand pictures...

I managed to just barely get a shot of those chompers!

The cutest pearly whites you ever did see!

Cowboy Boots

It's snowing.  Again.  When it should be mild and sunny.
What's a girl to do when winter will never end?
Write an overdue blog post.

Cowboy boots.

I wondered when my guy would start asking for a pair of them.  I figured it was coming eventually.
And after a guided tour through the treasure trove that is Grandma and Grandpa's basement, he stumbled upon this old pair...

These comfy, well-worn gems belonged to his daddy years ago.  Daddy got them from his grandparents when he was a kid.
They're a little too big for Sam, but no matter.  He fell in love.

He even found a hat...

After insisting on wearing these over-sized boots everywhere and then witnessing him almost falling down the stairs twice, we decided he needed a pair of his very own.  A pair that fit.

In keeping with the grandparent-cowboy-boot tradition, it was off to the western supply store with Grandma and Grandpa so they could get him his very own pair.  He was so excited!

Thank goodness he was drawn to the $30 pair of boots.  Did you know they make kids boots that cost $150 and up?  We're not that serious.  He settled on the black pair.

After trying on his new boots, he was asked to pose for a picture.  Without skipping a beat, this is what he came up with:

Perfect amount of cheese, Sam!

And no jeans?  No problem.  These boots go with everything!

Oh...and by the way...

This is what we woke up to.  Two to four more inches is expected today.  It's March 24th.
Grumpy Cat, how do we feel about snow around here...

That's right.
